A Brief History of the Building 1901: Andrew Carnegie gave $25,000 to the town to build the library. 1991: The library was made handicapped accessible. The library is named after benefactor Erastus Brigham Bigelow (1814-1879), who invented power looms for producing a variety of textiles, including laces, tapestries, and carpets. |
